The church of St Peter in Upper Arley (nowadays in Worcestershire - up until 1895 it was in Staffordshire) has Norman origins (probably 12th century) though the oldest notable remains date from the 14th century. These remains probably date from an enlargement of the church in around 1325CE. A North aisle was added and the chancel rebuilt. A tower was added in the 15th century. However the current tower was a later addition, replacing the original in the late 16th century. In the 1880s the church was restored. The chancel was rebuilt and a vestry and South porch added.
The church is made from red and grey sandstone.
