At the weekend i headed down to Coventry to revisit the wonderful transport museum. I am currently developing a new section of my website which is dedicated to road transport so i needed to update my photography on the many many exhibits there. From the oldest cars to the fastest ones! You can see my photos here.
You may have wondered (though most likely have not as i suspect you are normal) how i manage to create the graphs such as on this page which shows the rolling stock and train companies i have traveled on over the course of a year. The answer is, i have listed all of my journies on rail in a little black book! I don't write down the numbers (my train spotting days can be left in my teens) but i note the type of train i have been on, and who operates it.
This then allows me to create graphs using Google Sheets and sometimes i publish them at the end of the year. So, i have been doing this for a number of years now but my book has finally run out of new pages! But fear not, i will start a new book next week...
On Saturday i headed up to Coventry and visited the superb transport museum there. I have been before (about nine years ago) and since then it looks like it has had a good revamp and is one of the best museums i have ever been to. Some great cars on display for sure. You can see my photos here.
One of the joys of visiting a transport museum, like the Crewe Heritage Centre i visited a few weeks ago, is to discover part of their collection which is a bit out of the ordinary compared to the rest of the exhibits. So, as well as a fine selection of railway vehicles there was also this trio of vintage ice cream vans!
