Churches (116) : St Laurence, Long Eaton

The parish church of St Laurence in Long Eaton, Derbyshire dates from the 12th century and retains some Norman features. It was originally a chapel of ease for All Saints Church in Sawley, it became a parish church in it's own right in the 19th century.

The church was rebuilt and enlarged in the late 1860s. The South aisle of the current church is the original church building. A new North aisle, nave and chancel in a matching style. Due to the rebuilding the West tower is not as usually placed with respect to the rest of the church layout.
